How do you ride a snow scoot?
Snow scooting is a combination of a freestyle scooter and snowboard. As with skis or snowboards, you steer and manage speed by turning the handle bar and shifting your weight, allowing the skis edges to carve a smooth line.
How do you stop?
Stopping yourself on a scooter and be done either by dragging one foot or better still carve a line as you would while skiing or snowboarding. You can also stop the scooter by sliding the rear board outwards on its uphill edge.
How do you get on and off a chairlift?
Make sure your scooter leash is secured to your leg or ankle. When the chair lift approaches, position the scooter directly in front of you. As the lift lifts you up, allow the handle bars rest on your lap and let the scooter hang below you. Cross your legs and ankles around the front of the scooter and enjoy the ride. Some scooters are small and light enough that to have it on your lap.
Can I ride it in a snowpark?
The scooter can be ridden in any snow/terrain park that resorts will permit. Check with the ski resort first. Then you are free to ride half pipes, rails, boxes, and kickers with ease, and of course, in control and as safely as possible to reduce risk of injury to oneself and others!
What kind of footwear do I wear?
As there are no bindings, the scooter can be ridden with normal hiking boots or soft snowboard boots.

All ski parks, whether a Snow or Terrain Park, have Safety Programmes carrying four main common sense messages:
Make a Plan
Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your manoeuvre and landing.
Look before you leap
Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.
Easy style it
Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended).
Respect gets respect
From the lift line through the park.
Can I put wheels on the snow scoot?
No. These snow scooters are specifically designed for use with skis. They are engineered to withstand the forces encountered in snow parks.
What maintenance do I need to perform on my scooter?
You should always check your the scooter before every session. All bolts and screws should be checked to ensure they are correctly tightened. The handlebars should spin freely and without any play. As you would with normal skis, you'll want to make sure the edges a good and base is waxed as required.
How to control speed, brake and stop?
As the feet are not strapped onto the deck you can always put your feet down. The best way is to do like skiers and snowboarders do. Carve and stop.
What is a "snowpark"?
In Europe they are referred to as "Snowparks” or “Funparks” and in the USA and Canada they are called “terrain parks”. These parks are specially prepared areas of a ski resort with jumps, half-pipes, rails and other features. Snowparks are like skateparks-for-the-snow and are the fastest growing segment of the snowsport industry at the moment.
